Irina Vlah, the former governor of Gagauzia, has responded publicly, accusing journalists of "carrying out the orders of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and attempting to smear my reputation," following the publication of an article by Ziarul de Gardă. The article addressed Vlah's lack of comment on her frequent visits to the Russian Federation.
