The journalist of Anews.az, Zaur Gambarov was beaten by two people, including an employee of the Social Protection Fund. The incident took place on May, 4 when journalist visited the State Social Protection Fund (SFSZ) to investigate a complaint from a local resident received on the website. When a journalist started to record the conversation on his phone, the driver of the State Social Security Fund entered the office and started to threaten him. Later, the head of the department came out to the noise and grabbed the phone from the journalist's hands. “He knocked me down and kicked me. When I tried to pick up my phone, he hit me on the hands,” Ganbarov said. According to the journalist, the violence was accompanied by threats to punish and arrest him for critical articles about the district administration.
