Civil activist Zarina Torokulova was sent to a punitive isolation centre. The media, citing the convict's daughter, reported that Torokulova, while under quarantine in the prison dormitory, made cosmetic repairs to dilapidated rooms. At her request, relatives brought construction materials to the prisoner. After the repairs, she wrote a report about it to the head of the general regime colony. However, the prison authorities considered it a violation and imprisoned her for 15 days in a punitive isolation cell. In January 2024, she was found guilty of "calling for active disobedience to the lawful demands of representatives of the authorities and mass riots" for reposting two posts on Facebook and sentenced to five years in prison.
