A court in Cheboksary fined Yury Pichugin, editor of the opposition newspaper Vzyatka and an honored worker of culture, RUB 40,000 under an article on «discrediting» the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). On December 6, Pichugin was detained and taken to the police department for a report for his comments on the war in social networks. The journalist does not plead guilty and intends to appeal against the court decision. He did not attend the trial, as in the morning, he became ill due to high blood pressure.
