Brest Regional Court sentenced 23-year-old Intex-press journalist Yury Hantsarevich to 2.5 years in jail. He was found guilty of promoting extremist activity (Part 1 of Article 361-3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) for having forwarded a photo of military equipment to «extremist» Telegram channels. Hantsarevich was detained on April 27, 2022. In a «penitential» video, the correspondent said that he had sent photos of «presumably Russian military equipment» to Zerkalo and Radio Svaboda. Then, he was arrested for 10 days under an unnamed administrative article. Soon, a criminal case was brought against him.
