A magistrate judge in Moscow’s Basmanny District has sentenced journalist Yuri Dud, in absentia, to one year and ten months in a general-regime penal colony for failing to comply with the legal obligations placed on individuals designated as “foreign agents” (Part 2, Article 330.1 of the Russian Criminal Code). The case was based on three posts on Dud’s Telegram channel that were not labeled as coming from a “foreign agent,” a requirement he stopped following in March 2024. Since then, Moscow courts have reviewed **four administrative cases against him, resulting in fines totaling 170,000 rubles (about €1,850).
