On June 13, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek decided to extend the house arrest of blogger Yrys Zhekshenaliyev. At the same time, the court decided to conduct a repeated complex and linguistic expertise in the blogger’s case. House arrest of the blogger was extended until September 2023. The expertise was appointed despite the fact that earlier, at a meeting on May 15, lawyer Kantemir Turdaliyev said that the expertise ruled that the recording «does not contain calls to mass riots». The blogger was arrested in 2022 over the publication on Facebook of an archived video message of the former chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic about the need to abandon the development of the Zhetim-Too deposit in the Naryn region in the central part of the country. A criminal case has been opened against Zhekshenaliyev under the article «mass riots» and the state prosecution has requested six years of imprisonment for him.
