By the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, the online activist was placed in the detention center for two months. A criminal case was opened against Zhekshenaliyev under the article «Mass Riots» (calls to active disobedience to legitimate demands of representatives of authorities and to mass riots, as well as calls to violence against citizens). Earlier, the activist’s apartment was searched and his mother’s laptop and SIM cards were seized. On August 14, 2022, Zhekshenaliyev was summoned for questioning by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs over the publication of a video message on Facebook of the former chairman of the State Committee for National Security regarding the Jetim-Too deposit in the Naryn region, which borders on China.
