Youtube podcast 'Neighbouring Table' received a demand letter from the lawyer of former Akim (mayor) of Ust-Kamenogorsk Kwat Tumbayev, regarding an intereview, published on the 17th of 2024, featuring activist Damir Kusheyev. Kusheyev expressed the opinion that the true perpetrator of a 2018 road traffic accident went unpunished. The letter contains a court decision stating that someone else was responsible for the accident, and also a civil court case wherein Tumabayev sued police officers on duty on the day of the incident. The letter invites the podcast editors to publish a refutation within the month and delete a section of the interview. If not, the lawyer intends to sue in order to protect the interests of his client.
