Additional information:

On January 31, 2021, photojournalist Yevgeny Gruzinov was photographing Lenin Square in Simferopol, where a picket of supporters of the Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny did not take place. When two men in civilian clothes saw that he was taking photos they approached him. Showing him their IDs, they demanded his documents. When they saw his press card, they did not detain him. Some time later, they came again and demanded the press card be hung so it would be visible. Almost immediately afterwards, several other officers came and detained the journalist. He was taken to the Kievsky District Police Department of Simferopol and stayed there for about three hours. During this time, they took an explanation of what he was doing on Lenin Square and under what circumstances he was detained, fingerprinted him, and gave him a warning about the inadmissibility of participation in unauthorized mass events.
