The police detained the journalist in the street, took him to the police department, and drew a report on him for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). The reason for the administrative prosecution was the coverage of the protest action of the citizens, who disagreed with the preliminary results of the voting. He was placed in the detention center for two days until the trial. On August 13, the court found the journalist guilty and fined him 10 basic amounts.
