Buryat journalist Yevgenia Baltatarova, who was put on the international wanted list by Russian authorities in connection with the case of discrediting the Russian army, was detained in Astana. According to the journalist, the officers shouted at her in the police station, threatened to leave her in the pre-trial detention center until the morning unless she signed the documents, tried to fingerprint her without her consent, took her photograph on the personal phone of a police officer, and did not allow the attorney to see her for two hours. On October 1, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed that the journalist was detained under Part 1 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberately false information about the act of terrorism). The search was initiated by the police department of Ulan-Ude of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
