Roskomnadzor has drawn up administrative reports on the distribution of «fakes» against the editor-in-chief of The New Times, Yevgenia Albats, and the Novye Vremena company (The New Times), which is owned by Albats and under which the website is registered. The reason for the prosecution was two publications about the invasion of Ukraine posted on the first day of the war, which were later removed. Under Part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (dissemination of deliberately inaccurate information of public importance in the media), under which the reports were drawn up, an official faces a fine of up to RUB 200,000 and a legal entity faces a fine of up to RUB 500,000.
