The company Kazakhstan Waste Management Operator filed a civil lawsuit with a Pavlodar court against the online media ABZHAN NEWS, its journalist Yerzhan Orazalinov, and the Department of Ecology of the Pavlodar region. The reason for the lawsuit was the publication posted on May 24 in the ABZHAN NEWS Telegram channel about unauthorized dumpsites in the cities of Pavlodar region, with a list of addresses of dumpsites, and the reply of the Department of Ecology on results of check of the information voiced by journalists, published on the official page of the state agency on Instagram. The plaintiff sought to compel the defendants to publish a refutation on social media. On September 7, 2022, the court rejected the claim.
