A criminal case has been opened against Yelena Solovyova a journalist from Syktyvkar, for failing to fulfil her obligations as a “foreign agent” (Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code). The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warrant for her arrest. Yelena Solovyova was declared a “foreign agent” in October 2021. In 2022, she emigrated and stopped submitting reports to the Ministry of Justice. Before emigrating, the journalist collaborated with Novaya Gazeta, 7x7, and Sever.Realii. Currently she writes articles in French for Canadian media and hosts the podcast 'Voices of the Forest' about the history and mythology of the Komi people.
