On May 11, journalist Yelena Kulumbegova was attacked in Tskhinvali (temporarily occupied territory of the Tskhinvali region). She was diagnosed with a concussion and a broken nose. The attacker, Yury Mironov, started with insults and then hit Kulumbegova in the face with his fist, explaining his actions by the journalist's political position.
