The journalist was covering the protest actions against the presidential election results and the violence of security forces in the centre of Gomel. He was detained by the police and taken to the police department, where he was drawn up a report for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). He was held in the detention centre for three days until the trial. On August 24, the court found the journalist guilty and arrested him for five days.
