The Sovetsky District Court of Homiel declared freelance journalist Yauhen Merkis guilty of illegal production and distribution of media products under Article 23.5 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus. The journalist was accused of cooperating without accreditation with the TV channel Belsat. The judge ruled to fine him BYN 725.
