The journalist of 29.ru Yaroslav Varenik was held for seven hours at the Russian border and interrogated on his way to Estonia. The guards asked him about his opinion about the war with Ukraine and Alexey Navalny, asked him to list the rallies he had covered, and read his correspondence in messengers. The border guards asked about Varenik’s opinion about Satanists and threatened him with a criminal case for insulting the feelings of believers. Estonian border guards prevented Varenik from entering the country and canceled his visa because they could not confirm his hotel reservation. The paper said that «the conditions and purpose of stay were not justified».
