The Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow in absentia sentenced journalist Yanina Sokolovskaya to seven and a half years in prison in a case involving military “fakes” (clause “d” of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). Sokolovskaya was also banned from administering websites for four years. Sokolovskaya is a former correspondent for Izvestia and has collaborated with Kommersant and RIA Novosti Ukraine. She was a regular participant in propaganda programs on the Russia and First Channel television networks. She left Russia in 2022.
