Toporkova's house was searched in relation to the criminal case on "fakes" (Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code). Then she was taken to the city of Cherkessk. The interrogation took place the next day. Employees of the Center for Countering Extremism exerted moral pressure on the journalist for her to confess. The case was opened due to publication about the situation with the COVID-19 in Karachay-Cherkessia. The posts were published on the Instagram account "Politics 09", which Toporkova has nothing to do with.
