At the beginning of the working day, law enforcers searched the editorial office of the website Nasha Niva. They seized equipment, digital and paper media. After that, the law enforcers searched the flats of the newspaper’s managers. The searches were conducted under criminal articles for gross violation of order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) and for «mass riots» (Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). The law enforcers seized computer equipment from Yahor Martsinovich’s flat, after which he was taken for interrogation and then arrested as a suspect under Article 342 of the Criminal Code. After the detention, Martsinovich was severely beaten. At the Investigative Committee, where the interrogation took place, he was called an ambulance, he had a head injury.
