Police officers detained the journalist on 9 August in the evening - on the day of the presidential election, when he was covering a peaceful protest demonstration of townspeople who disagreed with the announced preliminary results of the voting. He was taken to the ROVD and placed in an isolation ward. He wsd released 8 hours after the arrest.
