The court in Almaty considered a lawsuit for the protection of the business reputation of Musakhan-Security LTD against Publishing House Time LLP and the journalist Mikhail Kozachkov. The subject matter of the lawsuit was the recognition of the disseminated information as false and the obligation to refute it. The plaintiff contested 4 fragments of the article «A Small Secret of a Big Such Company» (Time.kz, March 4, 2022) — about the investigation by the Agency for Financial Monitoring into the criminal case against the companies suspected of cashing out and withdrawal of about USD 12 million received from Samruk-Kazyn. According to the court decision, the editorial board of Vremya must publish a refutation for the article in its first issue after the decision enters into legal force. The court decision has not come into legal force yet.
