The KGB of the Republic of Belarus has included the website and social networks accounts of the regional online media Volkovysk.by into the list of «extremist formations». The message lists the media’s profiles on Telegram, Facebook, VK, and Twitter, and separately identifies the website’s editors Ales Zaitsau and Aljaksandar Tarantsei. According to the current law, any interaction with resources recognized as extremist formations (for users, even subscribing or reposting) may be grounds for criminal prosecution and imprisonment for up to 7 years for participation in an extremist formation or assistance to an extremist formation.
