On the third anniversary of the events of January 2022, relatives of those who died held a ceremony at the memorial, before heading to the Akimat (local government), demanding to meet the Akim (head of local government). Representatives of the Akimat asked that the relatives enter through the main door, and promised that they would organise a meeting with municipal government officials. However, journalists accompanying them were barred from entering, and no reason for the refusal was given. At the meeting, the two parties discussed issues linked to the status of the deceased and their families.
