People, concerned about the information about the disappearance of five Crimean Tatars, gathered outside the Federal Security Service building. Later, the riot police cordoned off the area where most of the people were and began mass detentions. Among the detainees were the editor of the Avdet newspaper Shevket Kaibullyaev, who was sitting in a car nearby, streamers of Crimean Solidarity Aider Kadyrov and Nuri Abdurashitov, as well as civil journalist Rolan Osmanov. The riot policemen tried to hit Osmanov's head against the bus and kicked him in the legs. Moreover, the civil journalist of Crimean Solidarity Vladlen Seydaliev, who was filming the detentions from afar, was detained; he was hit in the ribs. All the detainees were taken to the police departments, where they were drawn up administrative reports for violating the high alert regime imposed in connection with the pandemic.
