On 28 February, police in Nizhny Tagil detained Vladislav Postnikov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Vechernye Vedomosti, as he was about to deliver a public lecture. He was intercepted upon leaving the editorial office. On 1 March, a court in Yekaterinburg sentenced him to 14 days’ imprisonment for "demonstrating the extremist symbols" (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences). In an old post on Postnikov’s Telegram channel, security forces had identified a stylised letter “N,” which had served as the logo for Alexei Navalny’s election campaign.
