Two unknown people beat Vlad Avdeev and took away his smartphone. They forced him to ransom his phone, threatening him with violence. The journalist did not have the required sum, so he was forced to let unknown people into his apartment and give the money there. After the criminal incident, the journalist wrote a statement to the police department. After a week of silence, and only with the assistance of the press secretary of the city police, they answered him, then disappeared again for two weeks. He wrote the explanatory note only on August 13 - 22 days after the attack. After analyzing the situation, the journalist concluded that the attack was not accidental and related to his journalistic publications/posts about the LGBT community.
