The security guards of the Shymkent city akimat did not allow the film crew of Atameken TV channel — journalist Marina Nizovkina and cameraman Vitaly Zaintinov — into the briefing of the deputy akim of the city, stating that they were not on the list. After a while, an employee of the internal policy department of the akimat came down the hall and offered to go to the briefing on the condition that the journalists leave their cell phones with the guard. The journalists refused. When the media briefing was already over, the akim’s advisor came up to the film crew and apologized on behalf of the head of the region.
