On the night from May 10 to 11, in Atyrau, unknown persons burnt the car of the Kazinform correspondent Viktor Sutyagin. Judging by the records of video surveillance cameras, an unidentified man set fire to the car around half past three in the morning. The journalist himself learnt about the incident when his car was already completely burnt out. Sutyagin assumes that the incident may be related to his professional activities, but does not suspect anyone in particular. The police found no traces of the explosion at the scene. A pre-trial investigation has been opened under the article on intentional destruction or damage to other people’s property.
