In Almaty, Vasily Polonsky, journalist of the Russian TV channel Dozhd (TV Rain), and photographer Vasily Krestyaninov were shot under their feet. Near the city morgue, armed men in uniform opened fire first into the air and then on the pavement at the journalists' feet. Polonsky and Krestyaninov were not injured.
