After the scandal caused by the statement of journalist Natalia Morar that she was expecting a child from the businessman Veaceslav Platon involved in financial fraud, whom she repeatedly invited to her programs on TV8, politician Vasile Costiuc, chairman of the Democratia acasa party, accused Morar and other well-known journalists and public figures of Moldova of connections with the Federal Security Service of Russia. In particular, he was talking about the journalists Vasile Botnaru, the director of Radio Free Europe in Moldova, as well as the director of Jurnal TV Val Butnaru.
