During a protest outside the parliament, police struck and shoved Vantsent Khabeishvili, causing him to fall and suffer a minor head injury. Khabeishvili was documenting the protest, which called for the release of journalist Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of the independent news outlets Batumelebi and Netgazeti. The protest, organised by journalists, saw police forcibly clearing demonstrators from the area, pushing them to another location.
