The court sentenced Badmayev to 40 hours of community service for participation in the congress of the Oirat-Kalmyk people on May 29. The journalist was detained the next day. He was found guilty under the article on repeated violation of the order of holding a rally (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). On July 3, the Supreme Court of Kalmykia upheld the decision.
