The Elista City Court fined Badmayev RUB 150,000 in a criminal case for «discrediting» the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He was banned for two years from publishing a newspaper and publishing texts and videos on the Internet. The criminal case against Badmayev was opened at the end of 2022 for reposting a video about the shelling of Mariupol with phosphorus bombs in VKontakte.
