On October 31, an incident took place in the building of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia between the Speaker of the Parliament Alen Simonyan and Vahe Makaryan, the correspondent of the news website Mediahub.am accredited here. When the journalist from the opposition media outlet asked for a comment from the Speaker of the National Assembly, initially the communication was of a joking nature, then the interlocutors turned to mutual accusations, and it turned into an unapologetic verbal altercation with insults and foul language both from the side of Alen Simonyan and Vahe Makaryan. The situation was defused only after the intervention of the security service. A few days later, on November 4, the journalist was deprived of accreditation. As for the Speaker of the Parliament, the incident had no consequences for him.
