On 8 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, filed a lawsuit in the Kotayk Regional Court of General Jurisdiction against LLC Mediahub and journalist Vahe Makaryan, seeking compensation for damage to his honour and dignity. The claim was prompted by an article published on 11 August on the information website Mediahub.am, owned by the aforementioned LLC, which alleged that the minister had failed to answer journalists’ questions. Makaryan wrote: “He behaves extremely rudely, tactlessly and even arrogantly towards (Armenian) journalists attempting to conduct interviews or obtain comments, while insulting them, yet is very polite with Turkish and Azerbaijani journalists, almost like a modest bride or an obedient and submissive employee, if not an agent,” describing the minister as ungrateful. The lawsuit was accepted for consideration on 19 September and is currently under review.
