A case has been opened against Kuban-based video blogger Vadim Kharchenko for repeated «discrediting» of the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). A preventive measure has been chosen for him. The case was opened on February 2 on the report of a crime from the Federal Security Service Department of Novorossiysk. The ruling on the initiation of the case stated that in April, Kharchenko was fined RUB 30,000 under the administrative article on «discrediting» the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation), but did not heed the milder administrative punishment and committed a similar criminal offence within a year. Kharchenko is charged for a video on the YouTube channel Personal Opinion «Kherson is surrendered? Who is to blame?» dated November 10, 2022.
