The press conference of the public association Zhasyl Yel and residents of the Maraldy village in the East Kazakhstan Region, dedicated to the conflict around the construction of gold mining factories, was held online on August 14. Organisers invited representatives of the media, the Baytaq party, and environmentalists, but journalists from Press.kz and the regional media outlet Ustinka were denied access. «Unfortunately, we will not allow you to attend the press conference, because, as we think, you give unverified information», — justified the refusal an employee of Zhasyl Yel.
