Feminists Gulnara Mehdiyeva, Narmin Shahmarzade and Sanubar Heydarova on June 23 tried to hold a flash mob at a reception at the American Embassy on the occasion of US Independence Day. During the reception, they took off their scarves and exposed a black hand clutching at the throat. When the girls talked about the goals of their action on a video camera head of AbzasMedia Ulvi Hasanli, the employees demanded to stop recording. The activists were asked to leave the territory of the embassy, and Gasanli, the guards of the diplomatic mission, were forcibly put on the street and handed over to the police there. All activists and Gasanli were taken away to the 21st branch of the Nasimi district police department of Baku and was soon released.
