The state TV channel ElTR has filed a complaint with the court and is asking to recover KGS 10 million (USD 113) as compensation for moral damage from the online media PolitKlinika: KGS 7 million (about USD 80,000) from the media and KGS 3 million (about USD 34,000) from the journalist Tynystan Asypbek. Previously, PolitKlinika, the fact-checking media outlet, refuted the information shown on the state TV channel in its material. ElTR made a story where it was stated that under the current president Zhaparov «not a single loan was taken for the development of the energy sector». However, fact-checking journalists called this information a lie, gave references to statements of official bodies and explained why this was not true. On September 26, 2023, the court partially satisfied the claims and ordered to publish a refutation.
