The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has included in the register of «foreign agents» «an association of persons operating under the name of TV Rain». According to the agency’s version, this organisation provides a public platform for «foreign agents» and «undesirable» organisations, forms a «negative image» of the Russian Federation, and spreads fakes. The Russian legal entity of TV Rain, declared a «foreign agent» in 2021, was removed from the register due to the termination of its activities. In July 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation declared the activities of the Dutch and Latvian branches of the TV channel «undesirable in Russia».
