The Russian General Prosecutor’s Office has declared TV Rain an «undesirable» organisation. This refers to the Latvian and Dutch legal entities of the TV channel. The General Prosecutor’s Office points out that TV Rain’s legal entities were created by «foreign journalist» Natalya Sindeyeva, who has Russian citizenship, and that Dutch and Latvian journalists with Russian citizenship «take part in the preparation of the TV channel’s materials». The General Prosecutor’s Office motivated the inclusion of TV Rain in the list of «undesirable» organisations by the fact that the channel disseminates materials of «extremist» (ACF, Navalny Headquarters), «terrorist» (Hizb ut-Tahrir), «undesirable» organisations, as well as organisations recognised as «foreign agents» (Meduza, Radio Svoboda).
