Tursunbek Beishenbekov was detained after he was called again for interrogation at the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to media reports with reference to lawyers, the detained journalist is suspected of complicity in the abuse of power (Article 320 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic), as well as reporting about the knowingly false crime (Article 344 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic). The case is reportedly connected with the publication of critical publications about Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov, in which former Deputy Interior Minister Kursan Asanov may be involved as well.
