In the centre of Baku, dozens of protesters against the arrest of activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev started a rally previously banned by the authorities. They demanded the release of Bakhtiyar Hajiyev and shouted «Freedom to Bakhtiyar Hajiyev!», «Do not kill, but release!», «Freedom to political prisoners!», «Freedom, justice, national government!». Media representatives were broadcasting live from the action. The police detained a reporter of the Azerbaijani service of Voice of America Turkan Bashir. The journalist said that she was detained despite having the credentials.
