The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced a Formula TV social media journalist to 10 days of administrative detention for allegedly “artificially blocking the road” on Rustaveli Avenue. In a statement, Formula TV said: “The regime is using the repressive regulations it has enacted to persecute journalists and, with its limited resources, to obstruct the work of independent media. We regard the detention of our employees as deliberate pressure aimed at suppressing free thought.” Other Formula TV journalists, Vakho Sanaia and Keta Tsitskishvili, have previously been detained on the same charges.
