On October 6, Tolegen Imanov, the cameraman of Khabar 24, received a notice that the police collected material about bringing him to administrative responsibility for violating sanitary and epidemiological norms (Part 1 of Article 425 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The material was sent to the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Service for a procedural decision. According to the case materials, on August 2, 2021, Imanov did not show his ASHYQ status (COVID-19 status verification system) at the entrance to the DostykMall shopping center. On that day, Tolegen Imanov, a member of the film crew, was filming in the mall a story about the ASHYQ program. The security of the mall forcibly pushed the journalists out of the building. Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Service refused to initiate administrative proceedings against Tolegen Imanov.
