The Partizansky District Court of Minsk has recognised several TikTok accounts broadcasting local news as extremist information material. These are: the TikTok account “Gomelnovosti3” (tiktok.com/@gomelnovosti3); the TikTok account “Grodnonovosti4” (tiktok.com/@grodnonovosti4); and the TikTok account “Minskoblastnovosti5” (tiktok.com/@minskoblastnovosti5). Based on the court’s decision, the Belarusian Ministry of Information has added these internet resources to the Republican list of extremist materials. Under Belarusian law, the dissemination and possession of materials deemed extremist carry administrative liability for both publishers and users.
