The Central District Court of Minsk has declared the TikTok account named “belarusnovosti1” (tiktok.com/@belarusnovosti1) to be extremist informational material. The page publishes videos featuring news about Belarusian politics. On the basis of the court’s ruling, the Ministry of Information of Belarus has added the online resource to the Republican List of Extremist Materials. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials deemed extremist entail administrative liability for both publishers and users.
